Job Overview

We are looking for a qualified Generator Service Technician to become part of our dynamic team at GL Staffing Services Inc. The successful candidate will be tasked with the upkeep, repair, and servicing of generator systems.

Compensation: $25-$35 per hour

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs on generator units
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot issues including alternators, wiring harnesses, safety devices, shutdown systems, and battery operations
  • Repair and maintain engine systems across various fuel types
  • Possess knowledge of ATS systems and generator control mechanisms
  • Document all services performed, expenses incurred, and billable hours
  • Carry out additional tasks as assigned

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in servicing, maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing engines of all fuel types, including transfer switches and switchgear
  • Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude
  • Effective communication skills to interact with customers of diverse technical backgrounds
  • Proficient in using an Electrician's Volts Multimeter
  • Willingness to travel and possess a valid Florida Driver's License
  • Availability to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays, and participate in on-call rotations
  • Ability to safely operate heavy machinery and forklifts in compliance with OSHA standards
  • Capability to work independently with minimal supervision

All candidates must successfully pass a background check and drug screening.
