Job Overview

As a Field Engineer, you will play a critical role in coordinating manpower, managing on-site materials, logistics, tools, and rental equipment. Your responsibilities will include ensuring quality assurance and quality control documentation, managing field training, and maintaining the most current project documents. You will also coordinate with subcontractors, assist with daily activities, and participate in project scheduling meetings. Additionally, you will handle safety documentation, material takeoffs, change management, and creating and managing production goals for field staff.

Key Responsibilities and Essential Tasks:
  • Coordinating manpower and performing on-boarding and offloading of manpower on project sites
  • Assisting with field workers' certification management
  • Managing on-site material, logistics, tools, and rental equipment
  • Assisting with QA/QC document management
  • Coordinating with subcontractor's field personnel
  • Scheduling and renewing Underground Service Alert tickets and providing OSHA notifications as required
  • Coordinating material releases with Project Engineer
  • Completing required prefabrication documentation
  • Coordinating field training
  • Ensuring most current project documents (drawings, submittals, RFI's, etc.) are available (uploaded to ACC Build)
  • Reviewing and understanding project specific requirements
  • Assisting foreman with daily activities and responsibilities
  • Assisting with RFI creation and management
  • Completing Daily reports with input from project team as needed
  • Participating in all project scheduling meetings
  • Participating in the required 10-5-2-1 documentation and notification
  • Ensuring all required safety documentation is completed
  • Entering time for field workers
  • Assisting with the completion of project as-builts
  • Completing material takeoffs
  • Assisting with change management
  • Creating and managing production goals for field staff

Compensation:

Rex Moore pays hourly/salary rates commensurate with each employee's knowledge, experience, and skill level.

Work Environment:

Regularly exposed to environmental conditions inside and outside: inclement weather, cold, heat, and humidity. The noise level in the work environment can be loud. Frequently exposed to vibrations, moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, machines, dust, and chemicals. May be required to function in crawl spaces, shafts, manholes, small enclosed rooms, and other areas of close proximity. Occasionally required to work on elevated surfaces including on ladders and lifts.

Qualifications:

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Required Excellent communication and organization skills, the ability to be a team player, and detail-oriented
  • Required Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Preferred experience in Construction Management or Field
  • Preferred knowledge of electrical systems and their components
  • Preferred Read and understand electrical drawings and specifications

Occasionally required to lift objects from low to high positions in horizontal to vertical motions.

Frequently required to lift objects weighing up to 25lbs.

Occasionally required to lift objects weighing up to 50lbs with assistance.

Frequently required to talk, express or exchange detailed, important information by means of verbal communication.

Constantly required to hear sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction. Ability to hear detailed information and distinguish sounds to avoid hazards.

Required to have near and far sited visual acuity with or without correction. Must be able to inspect small parts, operating tools, using measurement devices and/or assembly or fabrication parts. Must also be able to visually identify and read posted signs, instructions, and identify possible hazards.

Required to have visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work.
