Job Summary:

The Imaging Services Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Radiology department at Advocate Health. This includes managing staff, maintaining quality standards, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain proper staffing levels and develop productivity and quality standards.
  • Develop and implement Quality Assurance (QA) and Performance Improvement programs.
  • Communicate effectively with staff, radiologists, and other hospital departments to ensure optimal patient flow and care.
  • Provide education and implementation of policies and procedures.
  • Monitor room utilization and provide work direction to technical nursing staff.
  • Establish and maintain an in-service program for Radiologic Technologists.
  • Plan and implement technical and system changes to improve patient care and reduce costs.
  • Investigate patient and staff complaints and respond in a timely manner.
  • Participate in the budget process and operate within budgetary allocations.
  • Initiate and participate in the research, purchase, and implementation of capital acquisitions.

Requirements:

  • Registered Technologist (RT) registration or Nuclear Medicine Technologist certification.
  • Associate's Degree in Radiologic Technology or related field.
  • 3 years of experience in a recognized imaging modality, with proven technical knowledge and leadership ability.

Working Conditions:

The Imaging Services Supervisor must be able to operate all necessary equipment, stand, lift, and move throughout the workday. The position requires exposure to radiation and film processing chemicals.
