AVAILABLE SHIFTS:
Monday-Friday 10pm-6:30am - $1 Overnight Shift Differential
Tuesday-Saturday 2:00pm-10:30pm
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES: The Resident Behavioral Health Aide plays a crucial role in delivering fundamental behavioral and psychiatric support to individuals transitioning from Veterans Affairs (VA) Medical Center, Managed Health Plans, Palomar Hospital, and Tri-City Hospital. The goal is to enhance their physical, psychological, and social well-being while participating in the program. Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team of professionals, the Aide engages with the recuperative care team to facilitate the patient’s journey back to independence. This role also includes the safe and timely transportation of clients to various appointments and maintaining a clean and organized facility.
- Provides behavioral support to clients under the supervision of registered nurses and qualified personnel.
- Monitors and evaluates clients' physical conditions, behaviors, and responses to treatment, reporting significant changes to the appropriate supervisors.
- Performs tasks aligned with their educational background and within the guidelines of the Recuperative Care Program.
- Assists in coordinating services, including planning, monitoring, documenting, and evaluating patient care.
- Employs behavioral and physical techniques to ensure safety for clients and others, responding effectively to crisis situations.
- Keeps common areas and hallways free of obstacles.
- Ensures facilities are maintained in a clean and orderly manner.
- Welcomes new clients to their rooms and familiarizes them with the facility, laundry, cafeteria, etc.
- Assists clients in scheduling medical appointments and provides necessary transportation.
- Helps clients with mobility, including those with physical limitations.
- Ensures the safety of clients during transportation and maintains compliance with traffic laws.
- Maintains communication with clients and staff regarding appointment schedules.
- Documents transportation records and maintains vehicle maintenance logs.
- Upholds the confidentiality of client information and health records.
- Participates in staff meetings and training sessions.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.
