We are seeking a highly skilled Speech and Language Pathologist to join our team at DeKalb County School District. The successful candidate will be responsible for administering tests and evaluating speech and language skills of students, creating lesson plans and activities for students, providing speech and language therapy, collecting data and monitoring students' progress, and facilitating meetings to review students' progress and/or recommend speech and language services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provides speech and language therapy to students based on Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
  • Evaluates students using appropriate diagnostic instruments and interprets test results.
  • Assesses and monitors student progress on a weekly basis and makes programming decisions based on the data collected.
  • Develops eligibility and evaluation reports following written departmental procedures and practices.
  • Develops Individualized Education Programs Plans (IEPs) according to local, state, and federal guidelines.
  • Schedules and prepares relevant paperwork and conducts compliant IEP meetings in line with department mandated timelines.
  • Confers with parents and teachers to develop and implement appropriate educational plans for students.
  • Consults and collaborates with parents, teachers, administrators, and other professionals regarding students' educational programming.
  • Participates in departmental meetings and professional learning activities.
Requirements
  • Master's degree from an American Speech, Language and Hearing Association (ASHA) approved accredited college or university in speech-language pathology.
  • Valid Georgia Professional Standards Commission approved certificate in speech and language pathology at level S-5 or above or a valid license for speech-language pathologist.
