As a Financial Analyst at Command Holdings, you will be responsible for providing financial support to the Fleet Forces Command in Norfolk, VA. Your duties will include:

  • Conducting financial analysis of current and future budgets to provide reports and briefings
  • Monitoring and reporting on program execution
  • Reviewing and applying lines of accounting, and creating Purchase Orders within the appropriate financial systems
  • Retrieving documents, reviewing for fiscal validity, and communicating necessary clarifications and/or corrections
  • Analyzing data and identifying solutions to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of processing transactions
  • Creating, maintaining, and tracking financial spend plans and contract financial data
  • Researching and investigating unpaid balances
  • Reviewing, reconciling, and clearing unpaid obligations
  • Reviewing hardcopy accounting records to compare to electronic records and resolving any differences
  • Identifying lessons learned to establish trends and resolutions to improve effectiveness
  • Devise and implement performance measures
  • Providing support in documenting current processes and ensuring Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are current, and communicating new processes to customers
Work Environment

As a Financial Analyst, you will work in a moderate noise environment, with occasional loud noise. You will be required to sit at a computer terminal for an extended period of time.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Minimum of 3 years relevant work experience
  • Current, active Secret clearance
  • Federal government experience in PPBE process (Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution)
  • Ability to provide analytical support
  • Assist in managing/tracking obligations and expenditures
  • Experience coordinating and scheduling meetings and conferences
  • Experience developing presentations, reports, point papers or other documents
  • Understanding of financial process corrections, enhancement, and improvements
  • Understanding of required Future Year Defense Program/Plan
  • Outstanding communication skills, influencing abilities, and client focus
  • Professional proficiency in English
  • Demonstrated proficiency in using all Microsoft Office applications
Preferred Qualifications

While not required, a Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, information technology or related field would be beneficial. Additionally, experience using Fleet CFMS and its Business Intelligence, as well as CFMS, SABRS and/or NERP, would be an asset.
