Job Overview:

Take advantage of the opportunity to contribute significantly as a NIIS Field Engineer, providing support for the PM FPS emerging requirements aimed at enhancing Force Protection against various improvised devices targeting vehicles and personnel.

At General Dynamics Information Technology, our workforce is our greatest asset. As a NIIS Field Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring safety today and innovation for tomorrow. Your responsibilities will include performing mechanical and electronic tasks related to radiation and Backscatter technology, as well as the Non-Intrusive Inspection System family of systems. This role encompasses installations, de-installations, system testing, and preventive maintenance on various systems that support the mission of the Warfighter.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct analyses of system operations.
  • Possess experience with the Non-Intrusive Inspection System family of systems.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and experience in the operations of hardware systems and components.
  • Identify, isolate, and correct faults in hardware systems and individual components.
  • Perform routine system maintenance and analysis functions, including hardware configurations and the use of diagnostic testing tools.
  • Conduct sustainment and preventive maintenance checks on systems and vehicle chassis.
  • Carry out site surveys to determine the type and placement of systems.
  • Install and de-install systems and components while training operators and end users.
  • Update databases and communicate job status and issues encountered to leadership.
  • Track and update work orders, including the replacement of parts and component serial numbers.
  • Travel as required to support mission objectives.
  • Utilize hand tools, power tools, and electronic measuring and testing equipment effectively.
  • Perform minor maintenance on vehicles and generators.
  • Generate and produce data and reports as needed.
  • Exhibit strong customer service skills and maintain a positive rapport with clients and peers.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.

Qualifications for Success:

  • Willingness to support extended work weeks or travel as mission requirements dictate.
  • Ability to meet fitness standards for deployment and withstand physical demands in varying temperatures.
  • Possession of a valid US passport with at least two years of validity and four consecutive blank pages for visas.
  • Associate's degree or equivalent experience (3-5 years relevant experience, or 6 years in lieu of a degree).
  • US Secret Security Clearance is required.
  • On-site presence is mandatory.
  • Compliance with PPE requirements for operational locations.
  • Travel may include various modes of transportation.
