Your Role Includes:
  • Collaborating closely with DoD customers and stakeholders throughout the system lifecycle, including development, integration, testing, deployment, and operational phases of a sophisticated ground system architecture.
  • Assisting in the creation of mission-critical, highly available, and high-performance networked systems within a collaborative team environment.
  • Producing systems engineering documentation such as operational concepts, requirements, specifications, interface control documents, and validation & verification plans.
  • Conducting system planning and design to expand resources in alignment with program requirements.
  • Supporting trade studies related to ground systems.
Required Qualifications

Essential Skills:
  • Possession of an active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility and the capability to obtain or maintain a polygraph, if necessary.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline with 8+ years of experience in a Systems Engineering role; OR a Master's degree with 6+ years of relevant experience. Four (4) years of applicable experience may substitute for a Bachelor's degree.
  • Proficiency with Windows-based operating systems, scripting languages for task automation, and system configuration automation tools (e.g., Puppet, Chef, Ansible).
  • Experience in system integration and testing, as well as configuration of networked services, file systems, and authentication mechanisms.
  • Skills in operating system administration for Red Hat 7.x, including building systems from scratch, software package installation, troubleshooting, and implementing security measures.
  • Direct experience with Windows and/or Linux operating systems.
  • Familiarity with distributed computing technologies.
  • Experience with virtualization/cloud technologies (e.g., OpenStack, Citrix XenServer, Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization, VMWare), Docker Containers, Ansible, and Heat templates.
  • Knowledge of front-end processing and network gateway appliances and/or software.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in designing, developing, and integrating a comprehensive satellite ground system, including infrastructure, processing frameworks, and software components.
  • Familiarity with object-oriented development practices, open architecture systems, distributed computing technologies, web services, SOA, networking technologies, requirements management tools, scripting, automated testing tools, modeling and simulation, and security certification processes.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey information clearly and effectively.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with management, customers, and stakeholders across the DoD.
  • Detail-oriented, capable of multitasking, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.

Target Salary Range

$146,000 - $234,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
