Job Summary:

Maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and sanitation in all floor areas within UPMC Memorial. This role involves the stripping and refinishing of hard surface floors, as well as the shampooing of carpeted areas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Clean and sanitize floor areas after emergency spill clean-ups, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for patients and staff.
  • Inspect and report any issues with assigned areas, including damage or wear and tear on floors and equipment.
  • Operate and maintain all assigned equipment, including floor care machines and cleaning solutions, to ensure optimal performance and extend equipment lifespan.
  • Shampoo assigned carpeted areas to maintain a clean and hygienic environment.
  • Comply with all UPMC Memorial policies and procedures, as well as safety and sanitation regulations.
  • Remove all soil, wax, and sealer from assigned hard-surface floors, using chemicals and solutions as per the department's Tech Manual.
  • Meet the minimum educational requirements, which include a High School Diploma or equivalent, or one year of previous job experience in lieu of education, or successful completion of the 5-week EVS training program.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions to successfully complete housekeeping duties.
  • Ability to use all housekeeping equipment, including floor care machines and cleaning solutions.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

  • Act 34 clearance, dated within 90 days.
