About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Golf Course Superintendent to join our team at BrightView Golf Maintenance. As a Golf Course Superintendent, you will be responsible for the maintenance, operation, and management of a golf course, ensuring it meets the highest standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, organize, and direct the maintenance of all areas of the golf course, adhering to technical specifications and annual budget estimates.
  • Partner with customers to develop long-term property improvement plans, ensuring alignment with company goals and objectives.
  • Supervise the operation, maintenance, and repair of all equipment assigned to the course, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Prepare and manage annual budgets, ensuring effective resource allocation and cost control.
  • Develop and implement agronomic plans, ensuring compliance with technical specifications and annual budget constraints.
  • Procure and manage supplies and materials, supporting maintenance activities and ensuring timely delivery.
  • Generate reports on maintenance activities, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.
  • Manage golf course employees, including recruitment, training, discipline, and separation, ensuring a high-performing team.
  • Protect company interests by adhering to all applicable regulations, company policies, and safety protocols.
  • Perform administrative duties, including managing the BrightView Safety Program and the BrightView BV360 Management Program.
  • Represent BrightView Golf Maintenance in a professional and positive manner, ensuring excellent customer relations and employee engagement.
Requirements
  • Experience in all phases of golf course management and turf culture.
  • Working knowledge of construction, establishment, and maintenance practices employed on golf course putting greens, tees, fairways, roughs, and bunkers.
  • Degree or advanced knowledge of agronomy, horticulture, plant or soil science, with high administrative and executive ability.
  • Certified and/or licensed for pesticide usage.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Class A Superintendent designation by the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America, with a minimum of 40 hours per week on-site work.
  • Commonwealth of Massachusetts pesticide license.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with fertilizers and soil conditioners, as well as irrigation systems, pumps, wells, and automatic controls.
  • Able to prepare the course for play in accordance with the rules of golf, evaluating the course from the player's perspective.
