Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Software Engineer to join our multidisciplinary team responsible for developing next-generation multispectral imaging systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software engineering, experience with real-time systems, and a passion for innovation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop real-time, embedded software systems using asymmetric multiprocessing techniques and multithreaded environments.
  • Implement complex image processing algorithms and optimize system performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including FPGA, Electrical, and Mechanical Engineers, to ensure seamless integration of imaging sensors.
  • Develop and maintain low-level hardware interfacing software for optimal integration of imaging sensors.
  • Lead the development of real-time multi-processor communication methodologies and implement complex serial and packetized protocols.
  • Aid in the hiring and recruiting of new team members and contribute to a collaborative team environment.

Requirements:

  • BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or applicable technical field required.
  • 15+ years of relevant software engineering experience, with a strong background in real-time systems and image processing.
  • Complete command of the C/C++ programming language and experience with object-oriented design methods and concepts.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence different personality types.
  • Strong team member with exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Linux kernel drivers and interfacing to custom hardware.
  • Experience with automated build tools and version control software.
  • Familiarity with the Qt Application Framework and real-time video streaming.
  • Implementation of convolutional neural networks for object detection and recognition.
