Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Donation Attendant to join our Retail Team at The Salvation Army. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring a positive donor experience and providing exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain a Clean and Organized Donation Trailer/Pod: Ensure the donation area is clean, tidy, and well-organized at the beginning and end of each shift.
  • Assist Donors with Donation Receipts: Provide a receipt to donors and ensure they are satisfied with their donation experience.
  • Process and Sort Donations: Separate and sort donations into the proper containers and stack them as instructed by the supervisor.
  • Support TSA PA/Drivers with Loading Donations: Assist with loading donations onto trucks as needed.
  • Inform Supervisor of Needed Items: Notify the supervisor of any needed items, such as brooms, receipts, totes, or carts, before they run out.
  • Secure and Lock the Donation Trailer/Pod: Ensure the donation trailer/pod is secure and locked at the end of each shift.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma/GED: A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • Background Check: Must pass a background check, which includes a criminal history and sex offender registry check.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to read, write, and understand written and verbal instructions, as well as communicate effectively with management, fellow employees, customers, and donors.
Physical Demands
  • Physical Ability: Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or continuous basis.
  • Lifting and Carrying: Ability to lift and carry objects up to 75 pounds.
  • Repetitive Motion Tasks: Ability to perform various repetitive motion tasks.
Work Schedule

Our stores operate 7 days a week. Work schedules are determined by management, and employees must be flexible to ensure adequate store coverage. Full-time associates may be scheduled to work any full-time shift, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
