Position Overview
The Wellness Associate will report to the Wellness Director and the Wellness Manager, providing essential services and care tailored to each Resident's individual Service Plan.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist Residents with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, eating, toileting, hygiene, and mobility as needed.
- Monitor each Resident's overall physical and mental well-being, promptly reporting any changes to the Wellness Director.
- Maintain an inventory of medical supplies and assist with ordering as necessary.
- Support shift coverage arrangements in case of unexpected absences.
- Help in orienting and onboarding new Wellness Associates.
- Respond to Resident emergencies, providing first aid and coordinating appropriate medical follow-up.
- Assist Residents in maintaining clean and orderly living spaces.
- Promptly address calls for assistance and attend to Resident needs.
- Support Residents with clothing and laundry needs as directed.
- Assist with meal selection, service, and feeding as assigned.
- Participate in activity programs as assigned.
- Maintain accurate records in accordance with policy.
- Engage in a minimum of 6 hours of in-service education annually.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Adhere to all emergency procedures.
- Understand and follow all safety policies and procedures.
- Communicate effectively with the Wellness Director and other staff members.
- Immediately inform the Wellness Director and/or Wellness Manager of any changes in a Resident's physical or mental health.
- Current State Nurse's Aide registration is preferred but not mandatory.
- Experience and a passion for working with seniors are essential.
- Able to perform physically demanding tasks, including pushing, bending, and lifting up to 60 pounds.
- Maintain positive relationships with Residents, their families, peers, and other staff members.
- In good physical and emotional health, free from communicable diseases.
- Physically capable of bending and reaching.
- Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 60 pounds as needed.
- Capable of standing for extended periods.
- May require the use of a Hoyer Lift.
- Weekend and holiday shifts may be required.
- May need to work on shifts other than the one assigned.
- Extended hours (up to 16 hours per day) may be necessary.
- Subject to exposure to infectious waste and diseases.
- Background checks may be required.
