Position Summary

As a Transit Planning Specialist, you will be instrumental in various planning initiatives and grant proposal activities that are essential for transforming the transportation framework. Your responsibilities will encompass developing transit strategies, conducting multimodal corridor assessments, performing subarea evaluations, crafting regional transportation frameworks, modeling travel demand, formulating policies, and writing grant applications. You will also utilize GIS mapping technologies and contribute to the creation of detailed reports and memos related to ongoing projects.

The ideal candidate will exhibit excellent communication abilities, demonstrating comfort in engaging with clients and presenting to diverse audiences.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess studies, formulate policies, and propose solutions for projects of varying scales.
  • Offer design insights for community, transportation, and comprehensive planning initiatives.
  • Draft environmental impact assessments and project documentation.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure community requirements are met.
  • Evaluate technical reports and execute design calculations to guide planning choices.
  • Coordinate project design requirements and relay progress to stakeholders.
  • Maintain project data within the firm's management system.
  • Guide interns and provide technical support to junior staff.
  • Supervise student staff and facilitate skill development opportunities.
  • Work in diverse terrains and weather conditions at project sites.

Occasional travel for project-related activities and business development is necessary.
