Position Overview

The Radiation Oncology Medical Physics Trainee engages in clinical education in accordance with CAMPEP (Commission on Accreditation of Medical Physics Education Programs) standards. The Trainee is encouraged to contribute to ongoing research initiatives within the department.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Successfully completes all mandatory clinical rotations outlined in the Physics Residency Program.
  2. Delivers routine clinical services under the guidance of Medical Physicists, which includes:
    1. Weekly Chart Review
    2. Monthly and annual quality assurance and commissioning of machines
    3. Brachytherapy treatment planning and execution
    4. External beam treatment planning and execution
    5. Specialized procedures
  3. Conducts research projects and disseminates findings in peer-reviewed journals.
  4. Educates therapy students.
  5. Performs other related tasks as assigned.
Qualifications

Candidates must possess a Ph.D. from a CAMPEP-accredited graduate program or have completed a CAMPEP-accredited certification program. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential. Proficiency in computer applications, including MS Office and/or Google Suite, is required. Research experience is also necessary.
