Compensation: $110,000 base salary plus a 10% annual bonus target.
The Electrical Engineer will deliver daily technical and strategic asset management support to maintenance and operations teams across the physical assets. The role involves collaboration with the Reliability Engineer to identify root causes of equipment failures and implement permanent solutions. The engineer will apply engineering principles to enhance the reliability, maintainability, and availability of assets and systems.
- Conduct engineering assessments and utilize computer functions such as drawings, spreadsheets, and database management.
- Maintain expertise in troubleshooting power distribution and instrumentation systems.
- Oversee the ongoing maintenance of power distribution switchgear and motor control systems.
- Perform calculations to ensure compliance with global safety standards and collaborate with technicians to resolve emerging issues.
- Monitor adherence to electrical engineering codes and safety regulations.
- Manage engineering design consultants for capital project design activities.
- Assist in the tendering process for engineering design requirements.
- Provide design insights to ensure compliance with operational and permitting requirements.
- Ensure engineering design timelines align with construction schedules.
- Supervise the construction and commissioning of electrical projects and systems.
- Manage E-TAP models and update electrical schematics.
- Ensure adherence to safety, environmental, and project objectives.
- Implement project delivery systems and tools effectively.
- Ensure compliance with project management systems, including document control and contractor management.
- Develop or assist in the development of standards and SOPs as required.
- Implement reliability-focused strategies in all work aspects.
Minimum qualifications include:
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related discipline with at least 2-3 years of experience in a similar capacity.
Experience in the mining sector is preferred, with a solid understanding of surface, underground, and concentrator operations.
Proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Office applications is required, along with experience in computerized maintenance management systems.
