Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Vice President, Insurance Broker, responsible for managing both new and renewal business. This role encompasses all facets of the placement process, from initial market analysis to the final delivery of policies to clients. The Senior Broker will primarily focus on complex and high-value placements while also mentoring junior staff and fostering strong relationships with insurers and clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate the broking process throughout the renewal cycle, adhering to established service standards and timelines.
- Define objectives and guide broking activities to ensure optimal outcomes for clients, implementing effective go-to-market strategies for each engagement.
- Exhibit superior negotiation capabilities, adapting strategies to various personality types to achieve favorable results; engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
- Oversee client placements, demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of the risks involved and focusing on achieving the best possible outcomes.
- Collaborate with account management teams and clients to ensure timely and complete submissions, addressing carrier inquiries, and presenting clear marketing summaries and proposals.
- Devise innovative solutions to navigate challenging placement scenarios, driving processes to enhance client satisfaction.
- Guide team members in preparing compelling proposal presentations for both existing and prospective clients.
- Assist team members in addressing client inquiries and resolving issues efficiently.
- Present proposals to internal teams and lead client meetings to discuss strategies and outcomes.
- Supervise the creation of sales documents, presentations, and reports for prospective clients.
- Prepare detailed analyses of coverage and policy options, ensuring accuracy and clarity in documentation.
- Review binders and policies to confirm that terms and conditions are correctly represented.
- Support and mentor team members, fostering their professional development.
- Build and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with carrier partners and internal teams.
- Ensure the accuracy of client and policy data within the agency management system.
- Utilize data and analytics to provide valuable insights for clients and the broking team.
- Develop and implement differentiated client services through effective stewardship processes.
- Showcase technology resources to enhance client engagement.
- Maintain organized and timely records of client, broking, and brokerage data.
- Lead by example in executing strategic broking initiatives and partnerships.
- Stay informed about the insurance marketplace, products, and services.
- Demonstrate a solid understanding of various risk financing strategies.
- Support portfolio management objectives as directed.
Qualifications
- Proven expertise in broking and portfolio management.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
- A minimum of seven years in insurance broking is essential.
Licenses and Certifications
- Property & Casualty License required or to be obtained within 90 days of employment.
- Advanced industry designations (e.g., CPCU, CIC, ARM) are preferred.
