Position Overview: The role involves fostering a classroom atmosphere that enhances students' understanding of the English language structure and encourages them to utilize their knowledge and skills effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging lessons through lectures, demonstrations, and multimedia resources to enrich the learning experience.
  • Develop course objectives and outlines in alignment with curriculum standards and educational requirements.
  • Administer assessments to gauge student progress, document outcomes, and communicate results to parents.
  • Maintain accurate attendance records and engage with parents regarding student achievements and challenges.
  • Participate in faculty meetings, professional development sessions, and educational workshops to enhance teaching practices.
  • Ensure timely and precise completion of necessary documentation and reports.
  • Utilize instructional time efficiently and responsibly manage classroom materials and resources.
  • Uphold a safe and organized learning environment for all students.
  • Exhibit a strong command of the subject matter being taught.
  • Assign relevant out-of-class tasks to reinforce learning objectives.
  • Adhere to institutional policies and educational regulations.
  • Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in English is required.
  • Eligibility for a Virginia Collegiate Professional License or Postgraduate Professional License with the appropriate endorsement is necessary.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills are essential.
  • Ability to cultivate and maintain positive relationships with students, colleagues, parents, and the community.

Working Conditions:

Candidates must be capable of sitting and standing for extended periods, demonstrating manual dexterity for tasks such as telephone use and data entry, and possess the ability to see and hear in a typical classroom setting. Physical agility to lift up to 25 pounds and perform various movements is also required. The work environment is generally moderate in noise level and primarily located within a school or classroom setting.
