Position Overview

Child & Family Focus, Inc. is seeking dedicated individuals to fill the role of Certified Peer Specialist (CPS).

Compensation: Starting at $17.00/hour with opportunities for advancement.

Sign-On Bonus: Eligible for a bonus based on employment status.

Role Summary:

A Certified Peer Specialist serves as a mentor and advocate for Transition Age Youth experiencing serious mental health challenges. This role is crucial in guiding young individuals through their recovery journey, helping them to establish community connections, navigate mental health services, and access necessary resources.

The CPS will focus on fostering personal wellness, teaching coping strategies, and encouraging the development of social skills. Weekly meetings will take place in various settings, emphasizing the importance of community engagement and personal growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide weekly support to assigned youth, assisting them in achieving their personal goals.
  • Facilitate the development of coping skills and social networks.
  • Engage in local travel to meet youth in their communities.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of sessions and progress.
  • Participate in ongoing training to uphold CPS certification.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure comprehensive support for youth.

Qualifications:

  • Certification as a Peer Specialist (CPS) is required.
  • Valid driver's license and insurance.
  • Ability to work a minimum of 10 hours per week, including evenings.
  • Demonstrated stability in personal wellness and recovery.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
