Position: Culinary Service Associate - Short Order Cook

Salary: $18.64/hour

Work Schedule: Intermittent (0-19 hours/week)

Location: Buzzards Bay, MA

Key Responsibilities:

The primary objective of this role is to execute a range of food preparation and limited cooking duties. This position typically operates in settings that offer a limited selection of menu items, such as snack bar services.

  • Prepare and cook items such as pancakes, hamburgers, hot dogs, bacon, eggs, and sausage, ensuring proper cooking times and temperatures.
  • Measure and weigh ingredients for salads, desserts, juices, and fruit trays according to established recipes.
  • Prepare toast, salads, salad dressings, and sandwiches, as well as clean and prepare vegetables and fruits for service.
  • Place cooked items in serving dishes and maintain cleanliness in kitchen equipment and work areas.
  • Wash and sanitize kitchen utensils, dishes, and equipment, including operating a mechanical dishwasher.
  • Maintain safety standards and report any workplace hazards or incidents to the supervisor.
Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:

  • One year of experience in a food service environment.
  • Knowledge of sanitation standards in food handling and service.
  • Ability to follow recipes and prepare a variety of dishes.
  • Must obtain a Food Handler's Certificate or complete food handler training.
  • Physical capability to lift objects up to 40 pounds and perform various physical tasks for extended periods.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Two or more years of experience in food service.

Additional Information:
