Position Overview

Reporting to the Senior Manager of Environmental and DEA Compliance or their designee, the Environmental Engineer will oversee environmental compliance for all plant operations in accordance with applicable Federal, State, and local environmental regulations. This role will provide guidance to support plant expansion and modifications and serve as a resource for compliance and reporting related to various Environmental, Sustainability, and Governance protocols.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee environmental compliance of plant and laboratory operations, focusing primarily on air quality regulations.
  • Act as an information resource regarding environmental issues related to site operations.
  • Prepare emissions profiling data for chemical handling and processing activities.
  • Monitor process changes and evaluate their impact on emissions data, ensuring it accurately reflects current operations.
  • Assist in maintaining air construction and operating permits, along with necessary record-keeping.
  • Complete compliance reporting as required by regulations and permit obligations, including data collection and submission for various ESG platforms.

Qualifications and Skills

Technical Expertise in Environmental Regulations:

Comprehensive knowledge of Federal, State, and local environmental regulations, particularly those concerning air quality compliance.

Data Management and Reporting:

Proficient in preparing emissions profiling data for chemical operations and skilled in data collection and report preparation for various Environmental, Sustainability, and Governance (ESG) platforms.

Permit and Compliance Management:

Experience in managing air construction and operating permits, including familiarity with record-keeping and compliance reporting requirements.

Education, Experience & Licensing Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related science is required; a degree in Chemical Engineering is preferred. A minimum of 2 years of experience in a chemical manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Experience with emissions modeling software and regulatory filings related to air quality is highly advantageous.
  • Physical ability to lift and move items up to 25 pounds and perform tasks requiring mobility, including standing for extended periods, bending, and reaching. Occasional climbing of stair towers and ladders may be required.
  • Exposure to chemicals, moving parts, vibration, and noise in an industrial setting.
  • May require occasional travel for training or certification.
