We are seeking a dedicated Youth Care Worker to join our team at Heartland Human Care Services. As a Youth Care Worker, you will play a critical role in providing direct care and support to youth in our SAFEty program.

Job Overview

This is a full-time position working 2nd shift from 4:00pm to 12:30am. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with youth and be committed to creating a safe and supportive environment.

The salary for this position is estimated to be around $45,000 per year, depending on experience.

About the Job

As a Youth Care Worker, your primary responsibility will be to provide direct care and supervision to youth in our program. This includes:

  • Helping participants modify attitudes and behaviors by increasing their understanding of self and personal strengths and challenges
  • Ensuring participants follow implemented Individual Service Plans, point and level systems, and behavior mentorship plans
  • Supervising and ensuring safety of youth in the milieu during assigned shifts

You will also be responsible for maintaining established program staff to participant ratios, providing transportation as necessary, and documenting incidents and interactions with youth and their families.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent degree
  • At least one year of experience working with youth in a case work, human services, or related field
  • Fluency in a second language may be required

Certifications such as CPI and CPR are also a must.

Work Environment

Our programs operate 24/7, 365 days a year, and employees are required to be flexible in regards to scheduling and work location. You may be required to report to any one of our locations on a temporary or permanent basis.

Please note that this role is not eligible for remote work.
