Position Overview:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Control Management Specialist Military Apprentice to become a vital part of the Credit Bureau Management Business Control team. This role focuses on enhancing the business control landscape by offering expert guidance to business partners concerning control design, identifying issues, conducting root cause analysis, and supporting Risk & Control Self-Assessment activities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead or engage in moderately complex initiatives and deliverables within the functional area, contributing to extensive planning related to functional area outputs.
  • Examine and assess moderately complex business, operational, or technical challenges requiring thorough evaluation of various factors.
  • Assist in resolving moderately complex issues while collaborating with others to meet functional area, project, or process objectives, utilizing a solid understanding of function, policies, procedures, or compliance requirements.
  • Work collaboratively with peers, colleagues, and mid-level managers to address issues and achieve goals; may act as a mentor for junior staff.
  • Apprentices in the U.S. Department of Labor accredited Apprenticeship program will undertake a variety of structured duties, including on-the-job training, coursework, and mentorship, under the guidance of a hiring manager, program manager, and mentor. This apprenticeship is designed to facilitate the professional growth of an apprentice, preparing them for a post-apprenticeship role. Program Managers will oversee the apprentice's required path for professional development, ensuring they acquire the proficiency and experience necessary for a fully functioning post-program role.
Required Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 2 years of work experience, or equivalent demonstrated through a combination of work experience, training, military experience, or education.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Military experience across any branch of service: Army, National Guard, Air Force, Space Force, Navy, Marines, Coast Guard, or Reserves.
  • Experience in supporting one or more areas of risk, including Operational Risk, Technology, or Compliance roles aligned with these groups.
  • Familiarity with Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) and Issue Management.
  • Experience in the design, monitoring, and remediation of controls.
  • Experience in developing and monitoring key risk indicators.
  • Understanding of enterprise risk management frameworks, including risk identification, risk appetite and strategy, risk-related decisions, processes and controls, risk analytics, and governance.
  • Experience with Credit Bureau Management and knowledge of the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA).
  • Strong interpersonal, influencing, and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with stakeholders.
  • Comprehension of risk frameworks, corporate/business policies, and programs to translate into actionable plans for the business, function, and/or risk type.
Job Expectations:
  • Enrollment in Wells Fargo's DOL Registered Apprentice Program is mandatory. Apprentices are regarded as full-time employees within the program and are expected to adhere to Wells Fargo and the Apprenticeship Program's standards, as well as follow the company's policies, procedures, and employee expectations.
