Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Control Management Specialist Military Apprentice to be part of the Credit Bureau Management Business Control team. This role focuses on enhancing the business control landscape by offering consultative support to business associates regarding control architecture, issue identification, root cause analysis, and closure, along with facilitating Risk & Control Self-Assessment activities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead or engage in moderately complex projects and deliverables within the functional area, contributing to extensive planning related to functional objectives.
  • Analyze and review moderately complex business, operational, or technical challenges that necessitate a thorough evaluation of various factors.
  • Assist in resolving moderately complex issues and collaborate with others to achieve functional area, project, or process objectives while utilizing a solid understanding of the function, policies, procedures, or compliance requirements.
  • Work alongside peers, colleagues, and mid-level managers to address issues and accomplish goals; may act as a mentor for junior staff.
  • Participants in the U.S. Department of Labor accredited Apprenticeship program will undertake a variety of structured tasks, including on-the-job training, coursework, and mentorship, under the guidance of a hiring manager, program manager, and mentor. Apprenticeships are designed to foster the professional growth of an apprentice, preparing them for post-apprenticeship roles. Program Managers will guide an apprentice's required path for professional development, ensuring they gain the necessary proficiency and experience for a fully functioning post-program position.
Required Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of relevant work experience, or equivalent demonstrated through a combination of work experience, training, military service, or education.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Military experience in any branch of service: Army, National Guard, Air Force, Space Force, Navy, Marines, Coast Guard, or Reserves.
  • Experience in supporting one or more areas of risk, including Operational Risk, Technology, or Compliance roles aligned with these groups.
  • Familiarity with Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) and Issue Management.
  • Experience in the design, monitoring, and remediation of controls.
  • Experience in developing and monitoring key risk indicators.
  • Understanding of enterprise risk management frameworks, including risk identification, risk appetite and strategy, risk-related decisions, processes and controls, risk analytics, and governance.
  • Experience with Credit Bureau Management and knowledge of the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA).
  • Strong interpersonal, influencing, and communication skills with the ability to effectively engage with stakeholders.
  • Comprehension of risk frameworks, corporate/business policies, and programs to translate into actionable plans for the business, function, and/or risk type.
Job Expectations:
  • Enrollment in Wells Fargo's DOL Registered Apprentice Program is mandatory. Apprentices are regarded as full-time employees within the program and are expected to adhere to Wells Fargo and the Apprenticeship Program guidelines, as well as follow Wells Fargo's established policies, procedures, and employee expectations.
