About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behavioral Specialist to join our team at UHS. In this role, you will be responsible for providing direct care and supervision to children, adolescents, and young adults with mental health needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the implementation of treatment plans for residents under direct supervision.
  • Manage crisis situations and respond to resident behaviors in accordance with the Behavioral Management Program.
  • Provide safe delivery of care to meet the goals and objectives of each resident's plan of care.
  • Participate in unit milieu to guide the development of acceptable habits and attitudes.
  • Document resident supervision and participation in programs in a timely manner.
  • Ensure all living and working areas are clean and sanitary for residents and staff.
  • Assist teachers in providing instructions and training in classrooms.
  • Attend and participate in all unit meetings and trainings.
  • Follow program activity schedules and implement safety and security procedures.

Requirements:

  • Degree in psychology, education, or related field preferred but not required.
  • 6 months of experience working with children and adolescents or related coursework.
  • Prior experience working with people with intellectual disabilities or developmental delays is an asset.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to rotate shifts and units as needed.

Compensation: The estimated salary range for this position is $42,000 - $55,000 per year, depending on experience.
