I&E Tech Lead – New Mexico Job Overview
Our client is an emerging leader in the gas pipeline sector within New Mexico.
They are experiencing significant growth with multiple large-scale capital projects in progress and are seeking an I&E Tech Lead for their operations.
In this role, you will serve as the Electrical & Instrumentation lead on various projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee, operate, troubleshoot, repair, and calibrate electrical and instrumentation equipment, including VFDs, switchgear, transformers, power supply systems, pumps, motors, and diverse instrumentation.
- Identify and acquire equipment based on application requirements such as power supply, flow, temperature, pressure, and area classification.
- Conduct loop checks and calibration of field instrumentation.
- Maintain and troubleshoot electrical circuits and equipment.
- Execute preventative maintenance on equipment, including pumps, compressors, drivers, and auxiliary systems.
- Interpret and analyze P&ID drawings, electrical schematics, mechanical schematics, and technical operational manuals.
- Collaborate effectively with Technicians, Operations, Engineers, and other personnel to perform maintenance, repair, installation, and commissioning of new equipment and facilities.
- Adhere to safety and environmental regulations in line with company and regulatory standards.
- Participate in safety training, maintain necessary certifications, exemplify high safety standards, and assist during regulatory inspections.
- Contribute to the development of Operations & Maintenance Procedures, Site-Specific Procedures, project scopes, and work plans.
Position Requirements:
10+ years of experience in pipeline instrumentation, electrical power systems, instrument control, automation, and electrical maintenance/project commissioning within the oil & gas sector.
- Comprehensive pipeline knowledge and hands-on experience with medium voltage equipment.
- Experience in a leadership role as an I&E technician.
- Familiarity with National Electric Codes.
- Technical Degree or Associate's Degree in Instrumentation, Electronic Communications, or Industrial Electronics, or equivalent experience.
- Understanding of Pipeline & Terminal business processes and equipment, including mainline motors, engines, pipeline flow measurement, and tank level measurement systems is preferred.
- Knowledge of pneumatic, electronic, and analytical instrumentation used for measuring and controlling flow, temperature, pressure, level, and analytical properties of fluids.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documentation, including Piping & Instrument Diagrams, loop drawings, wiring schematics, and specifications.
