Job Title: Associate Director of Open Academy

Job Summary:
The Associate Director of Open Academy is a key leadership position responsible for developing, administering, and assessing a portfolio of professional education programs at SUNY College of Environmental Science & Forestry. The successful candidate will work closely with the OA Director, ESF colleagues, and external collaborators to create, implement, and institutionalize Open Academy programs and the Teaching and Learning Center.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and administer a portfolio of professional education programs, including program planning, development, marketing, and budgeting.
  • Work closely with faculty and staff to identify emerging and ongoing needs of ESF campus faculty for improvement in online education and course/program design, planning, and development.
  • Assist in the oversight of the B.S. completion program in Sustainability Management, including communication with instructors for online courses, reviewing program quality, responding to student inquiries, and advocating for effective and accurate communication with students.
  • Teach one online course per semester in the Sustainability Management Program aligned with academic/professional background.
  • Supervise students who are conducting independent study and internships.
  • Participate in SUNY's Continuing Education Collaborative Meetings, Directors of Online/Distance Learning Environments (DOODLE), Continuing Education Associating of NY (CEANY), and other appropriate Continuing Education professional organizations.
  • Administer, manage, sustain, and grow a portfolio of quality professional education programs that provide professional credits when appropriate.
  • Collect and analyze Open Academy program data relevant to the SUNY Non-Credit Instructional Activity (NCIA) Survey on behalf of ESF and submit to SUNY admin.

Requirements:
  • Master's degree in a related field.
  • Professional/administrative experience in a college, university, or other relevant context.
