Inova Health System is seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Specialist to join our team.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure quality specimens for laboratory testing by identifying pre-analytical factors that may affect patient results.
- Operate laboratory systems and methodologies to produce timely and accurate data for patients, quality control, and proficiency testing.
- Report clinical data accurately and efficiently, and participate in departmental development by demonstrating operational knowledge and adhering to regulatory standards.
- Communicate effectively and work cooperatively with team members to optimize job performance and foster working relationships.
- Education: Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university, including biological science, chemistry, and mathematics courses.
- Experience: 3 years of experience in an accredited laboratory under the supervision of a pathologist certified by the American Board of Pathology.
- Certification: ASCP Certification consistent with the scope of responsibility (MLS/MT, MLT, HT, HTL, BB, C, H, M, CT) or American Medical Technologists (AMT) or Laboratory Technologist Certification (HEW).
