Job Overview:
A CAD Technician, also referred to as a Computer-Aided Design Technician, plays a crucial role in producing precise technical drawings and schematics utilizing advanced computer-aided design (CAD) tools.
Key Responsibilities:
- Developing comprehensive drawings, layouts, and schematics based on detailed specifications from engineers, architects, or designers.
- Collaborating effectively with engineers, architects, and other stakeholders to grasp project requirements and specifications.
- Integrating design alterations and updates into existing technical drawings.
- Ensuring all drawings adhere to relevant industry standards and regulations.
- Reviewing and interpreting technical schematics, blueprints, and sketches.
- Creating both 2D and 3D representations of structures, components, and systems.
- Conducting calculations and measurements to verify the accuracy of technical drawings.
- Organizing and maintaining comprehensive drawing files and documentation.
- Facilitating communication and coordination with project team members to ensure the timely completion of drawings.
- Providing assistance during the construction or manufacturing phases by clarifying drawings and supplying additional information as necessary.
- A successful CAD Technician should possess a solid understanding of drafting principles and practices, along with proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD or SolidWorks. Attention to detail and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively are essential.
Position Requirements:
- Experience with CAD/GIS software.
- Background in electric distribution is advantageous.
- Must have reliable transportation and communication devices.
