Job Summary:

The Pediatric Clinical Support Nurse at Albany Medical Center provides expert consultation and leadership to patient care services staff in the Children's Hospital, while also having direct patient care responsibilities. This role requires advanced knowledge and skills in specialty nursing, as well as the ability to manage complex patient and system-related issues.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide leadership and expert consultation to patient care services staff in the Children's Hospital
• Have direct patient care responsibilities
• Teach and support staff to develop their patient care skills
• Manage complex patient and system-related issues
• Assist staff in developing clinical skills and problem-solving in complex patient care situations
• Teach and support staff in initiating access and managing intravascular therapy
• Provide direct care in selected complex patient care situations

Requirements:

• Current NYS Nursing license
• BSN preferred
• Pediatric/Critical Care certification preferred
• Minimum 3 years of recent acute care clinical experience in Pediatrics
