We are seeking a highly qualified Academic Instructor to join our team at A.T. Still University's School of Osteopathic Medicine in Arizona (ATSU-SOMA). This is a non-exempt adjunct faculty position in Osteopathic Principles and Practice (OPP) at the Mesa Campus.
Job DescriptionThe successful candidate will facilitate weekly OPP Skills lab for osteopathic medical students I and II throughout the academic year, participate in practical examination days, and fulfill administrative responsibilities as directed by the OPP chair. Additionally, they will maintain ATSU-SOMA presence and relationships in professional organizations such as the National Board of Osteopathic Medical Examiners (NBOME), American Association of Colleges of Osteopathic Medicine (AACOM), American Osteopathic Association (AOA), American Academy of Osteopathy (AAO), and the Osteopathic Cranial Academy.
Responsibilities- Facilitate weekly OPP Skills lab sessions for osteopathic medical students I and II.
- Participate in practical examination days.
- Perform administrative duties as assigned by the OPP chair.
- Maintain ATSU-SOMA presence in professional organizations.
To be considered for this role, applicants must possess excellent communication skills, ability to demonstrate various lab skills in Osteopathic Principles and Practice, and willingness to teach OPP consistent with the ECOP curriculum and ATSU-SOMA selected procedures. A college education plus postgraduate studies are required, along with Type NMS/OMM board certification as a DO or equivalent. Preferred qualifications include specific training and/or current certification in Osteopathy in the Cranial Field (OCF), clinical practice integrating osteopathic manipulative medicine (OMM), OMM teaching experience, small group facilitation, and holding an active Arizona medical license in good standing.
Salary and BenefitsThis is a part-time position with a competitive salary range of $80,000 - $120,000 per annum. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including opportunities for professional growth and development.
