The role of the Lead Packaging Operator at REMINGTON SEEDS LLC involves collaborating closely with the Packaging Supervisor and the Plant Operations Manager to guarantee that seed packages are labeled clearly and accurately in accordance with customer specifications. The following are key responsibilities associated with this position:

  • Safety Compliance: Execute work tasks in a safe manner.
  • Labeling: Apply appropriate tags and/or labels to seed packages as necessary.
  • Inventory Management: Conduct precise inventory counts of bagged seeds.
  • Physical Stamina: Lift and stack materials weighing up to 68 lbs. for prolonged periods.
  • Height Handling: Lift and stack materials at or above shoulder height for extended durations.
  • Operational Duties: Stand to fill and seal packaged products for extended periods.
  • Forklift Certification: Successfully complete forklift training to obtain an operator's certificate.
  • Equipment Monitoring: Safely ascend stairs and/or ladders to oversee and adjust machinery.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Conduct thorough cleaning of all equipment to uphold product integrity.
  • Quality Assurance: Assist in the implementation and maintenance of the Quality Management System.
  • Workplace Organization: Maintain a tidy, clean, and organized work environment.
Qualifications
  • Agricultural Experience: Background in agriculture is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in computer applications such as spreadsheets and email.
  • Communication: Strong communication skills complemented by a positive attitude.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Team Collaboration: Willingness to cooperate and assist colleagues.
  • Production Monitoring: Monitor and optimize daily bag output.
  • Quality Management: Contribute to the Quality Management System.
  • Work Area Maintenance: Ensure a neat, clean, and organized workspace.
