We are seeking a highly skilled Geologist to join our team at Geotemps / Geopros. As a Geologist - Hydrogeology Specialist, you will play a critical role in providing expertise in hydrogeological interpretation of well drilling program data, with a focus on internal and external reporting on the data and tracking performance.
Key Responsibilities- Reporting and Data Management: The Geologist will report to the Hydrogeological Superintendent and provide expertise in hydrogeological interpretation of well drilling program data, with a focus on internal and external reporting on the data and tracking performance.
- Wellfield Data Management: The Geologist will manage and report wellfield data to internal customers and assist with the reporting of well completion and testing data to external regulators.
- Manage Incoming Data: Manage incoming testing and completion data from the commercial wellfield, including data from contractors, and consultants.
- Data Processing and Presentation: Process and present wellfield testing and completion data to internal and external customers.
- External Reporting: Assist with external notifications and reporting to regulators, including data interpretation and figure preparation.
- Resource Development Planning: Assist with resource development planning, performance, and well designs.
- Hydrogeological Comparisons: Assist with hydrogeological comparisons between areas or zones of the ore body, and other metrics such as geological log interpretation and formation contact determinations.
- Geological Interpretation: Lead efforts to optimize the overall geological interpretation of the deposit.
- Data Management System: Maintain data management system for compliance related well reports, notifications, and other reports as required.
- Other Duties: Other duties as required.
- Experience: Experience with geophysical logging, sampling, and analysis is required.
- Well Construction and Testing: Must be experienced with well construction, well and aquifer testing, and well rehabilitation.
- Database/Data Logger Experience: Database/data logger experience is required.
- Software Experience: Experience with mine water management modelling software, aquifer testing software, hydrogeological groundwater flow models, and data management systems is preferred.
- Project Management: General project management experience is preferred.
- Aquifer Regulations: Some familiarity with aquifer related regulations is preferred.
- GIS and Mapping: Arc-GIS software and mapping experience is required.
- Communication Skills: Must be able to effectively manage time, set priorities, and manage multiple tasks. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Excellent written and verbal communication skills required, technical report writing experience preferred.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Geology, Hydrology, or related field is required.
- Work Schedule: This position will include some office work, but a significant amount will be performed in all-weather conditions outdoors.
- Work Hours: This position will report to the site on a routine Monday through Friday schedule.
- Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs, and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Safety Program: Must work in compliance with the site safety program.
$100k to $120k annually, plus a robust benefits package and possible incentive program.
