Urban Water Resources Engineer EIT Job Description

We are seeking an Urban Water Resources Engineer EIT to join our team at Stantec. As an Urban Water Resources Engineer EIT, you will work on sewer and water planning projects across the country under the guidance of Subject Matter Experts in the industry.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Using knowledge of general concepts of relevant civil engineering elements, including system hydraulics, surveying, and topographic mapping, geotechnical considerations, grading, utility investigations, and analyses.
  • Assisting the team in preparing analyses and results for client presentations and technical reports.
  • Assisting the team in preparing design drawings, specifications, quantity estimates, cost opinions, and gathering information to support design decisions.
  • Conducting basic calculations and performing other duties of a similar nature and level as assigned and under the supervision of a project engineer.
  • Completing design tasks using AutoCAD Civil 3D, including grading and site layout for various projects.
  • Performing GIS analyses to support engineering and technical decisions and presentations.
  • Preparing design reports and technical memorandums to summarize engineering tasks.
  • Working with multi-disciplinary design teams in the coordination of the project under the direction of a senior engineer.
  • Assisting the team in providing support services during construction, including submittal reviews, responses to requests for information, and contract document clarifications.
  • May perform field work related to collection systems.
  • Assisting in supporting the civil team in providing support services during capital improvement planning, including data reviews, research, hydraulic analyses, and requests for information from different agencies.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of Bachelor's degree in Civil and/or Environmental Engineering.
  • Minimum of 1-3 years of related experience.
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification required or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.
