Job Summary

Williamson Health is seeking a skilled Surgical First Assistant to provide high-quality patient care and support our surgical team in Franklin, Tennessee.

Job Description

As a Surgical First Assistant, you will be responsible for collaborating with surgical team members to coordinate patient care, anticipating and providing equipment and supplies in a timely manner, maintaining a sterile field and adhering to aseptic practice principles, and assisting with anatomical positioning and controlling the OR Suite environment.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with surgical team members to coordinate patient care
  • Anticipate and provide equipment and supplies in a timely manner
  • Maintain a sterile field and adhere to aseptic practice principles
  • Assist with anatomical positioning and control the OR Suite environment
  • Handle and transport medications and solutions safely
  • Demonstrate responsibility for cost containment and document patient charges accurately
  • Facilitate staff development and participate in educational programs
Requirements
  • High school graduate
  • Previous First Assist experience or one year scrub tech experience
  • Ability to work well under pressure and function independently
  • Physical ability to lift and turn patients, with assistance, up to 250 lbs
  • Ability to communicate in English orally and in writing
