Job Title: Special Inspector

NV5 is a leading provider of engineering and consulting services to public and private sector clients. We deliver solutions through six business verticals, including Testing, Inspection & Consulting; Infrastructure; Utility Services; Environmental Health Sciences; Buildings & Program Management; and Geospatial Technology.

We are seeking a Special Inspector to join our team in Ventura, CA. As a Special Inspector, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and safety of construction projects. Your expertise will be crucial in identifying and addressing any defects or issues that may arise during the construction process.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct inspections of construction sites to ensure compliance with building codes and regulations
  • Identify and report any defects or issues that may impact the quality and safety of the construction project
  • Collaborate with project managers and engineers to develop and implement quality control measures
  • Provide training and guidance to construction personnel on quality control procedures
Qualifications:
  • ACI Level I Field Technician certification
  • ICC reinforced concrete, AWS CWI, ICC Structural Masonry, ICC Fireproofing, ICC Structural Steel Bolting or Welding certification
  • Experience in soil inspection, reinforced concrete, masonry, spray applied fireproofing, structural steel/welding inspection or non-destructive testing
  • Caltrans certification a plus
