Job Title: Family Safety and Intervention Specialist

Professional Services Group is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Family Safety and Intervention Specialist to join our In-Home Safety Services (IHSS) program. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting families referred by Child Protective Services and the Ongoing Unit to maintain safety in homes where children are at risk for removal.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate youth and families for treatment needs and refer to appropriate resources.
  • Analyze client situations, capabilities, and problems to determine services required to control safety threats.
  • Exercise judgment to intervene as an advocate for clients in emergency and crisis situations.
  • Act as an on-call resource to evaluate and determine necessary responses in de-escalating crisis situations with youth and families.
  • Conduct face-to-face contact with families, per program standards, to ensure safety and cooperation with safety plan.
  • Provide timely client updates to other involved employees/agencies.
  • Safely transport clients as needed.
  • Assist with Supervised Visitation Program as needed to transport clients to family visits.
Requirements:
  • Must have a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Criminal Justice, or related.
  • Must have reliable transportation on a daily basis, a valid driver's license, and automobile insurance.
  • One year of experience working with at-risk youth and families is preferred, but not required.
