Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate LPN/RN to join our team at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. As a member of our healthcare team, you will assist the Physician and/or Physician Extender in providing technical nursing care to patients. Your primary responsibilities will include assessment and reassessment of patients, providing direct care to patients of all ages, and carrying out tasks supportive to the patient care unit.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assessment and reassessment of patients to identify their needs and develop effective care plans
  • Provide direct care to patients of all ages, including vital sign monitoring, wound care, and point-of-care testing
  • Carry out tasks supportive to the patient care unit, such as preparing patients for procedures and administering medications
Technical Capabilities
  • Clinical Patient Documentation: Possesses sufficient fundamental proficiency to successfully demonstrate patient documentation in practical applications of moderate difficulty
  • LPN Care Planning: Participates in the development of the plan of care in consultation with the licensed healthcare team
  • LPN Patient Education: Possesses sufficient fundamental proficiency to successfully demonstrate patient education in practical applications of moderate difficulty
  • Clinical Competency: Possesses sufficient fundamental proficiency to successfully demonstrate nursing interventions in practical applications of moderate difficulty
