Diagnostic Imaging Specialist

Cayuga Health System is seeking a skilled Diagnostic Imaging Specialist to join our team. As a Diagnostic Imaging Specialist, you will be responsible for performing a variety of ultrasound and vascular exams, as well as assisting with multiple interventional procedures.
This role requires extensive knowledge and understanding of ultrasound, including anatomy, pathology, and ultrasound physics. You will need to demonstrate the ability to provide high-quality care combined with excellent customer service.
Responsibilities include:
- Operating and performing basic maintenance of ultrasound equipment, including the Philips Epiq and Philips CX-50.
- Following guidelines for radiation exposure (ALARA).
- Adhering to policies and protocols for exams and procedures.
- Performing ancillary tasks in the department, such as stocking linen and supplies.
- Maintaining CPR certification, RDMS, and RVT certification, as well as continuing education credits and updated licensures.
- Education - Completion of an accredited school and/or current registration.
- Experience - 1-2 years' experience preferred but not necessary.
- Licensure - RDMS and/or RVT certified or RDMS/RVT eligible.
- Problem-solving ability and attention to detail is preferred.
- Good written and oral communication skills are preferred.
- Ability to prioritize work, manage time wisely, and adjust to changes in work volumes is required.
- May require light lifting and carrying, including boxes, equipment, stooping, and kneeling. Must pass color-blindness test. Repetitive use of hands (e.g., computer keyboard usage), sitting, walking, or standing for long periods of time is often necessary; must be able to physically operate automation used in the job.
