We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant to join our team at Henry Ford Health System. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting our healthcare team.
Key Responsibilities- Perform administrative and clinical tasks to support patient care, including greeting and escorting patients, obtaining medical histories, and recording vital signs.
- Assist providers during examinations and procedures, and prepare patients for these events.
- Document patient care and medical information in the electronic health record (EHR).
- Collect and process specimens, perform CLIA-waived tests, and assist with electrocardiography and other testing as needed.
- Provide patient education and support, and serve as a liaison between patients and medical staff.
- Participate in quality assurance and quality improvement programs, and maintain compliance with regulatory standards.
- High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
- Basic computer knowledge and keyboarding skills preferred.
- Ability to perform a wide variety of clinical skills as related to ambulatory patient care preferred.
- Ability to problem-solve and possess effective interpersonal and communication skills preferred.
- EPIC (Electronic Medical Record) experience preferred.
- Graduate of a Medical Assistant program with completion of a formal clinical externship (160 hour minimum).
- OR Graduate from a Medical Assistant program without completion of a clinical externship but with a minimum one-year experience in clinical medical assisting within the past five (5) years.
- OR Current Professionally Recognized Medical Assistant Certification with a minimum of five (5) years of experience in clinical medical assisting.
- OR Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
- OR Licensed Paramedic/Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) with at least one-year clinical experience.
- ORMilitary trained medical personnel with at least one-year clinical experience in clinical medical setting within the past five (5) years.
