The Speech Therapist (ST, SLP) plays a crucial role in assessing and addressing patient needs related to speech and language disorders, as well as providing functional training in communication, swallowing, and cognitive challenges.

  • Delivers services within the legal scope of practice as outlined by state regulations, following the care plan and collaborating with the healthcare team.
  • Assesses the patient's functional abilities through diagnostic tests and assists in formulating the therapy care plan.
  • Facilitates effective communication for patients, adapting techniques to their specific conditions while adhering to professional standards.
  • Educates patients, families, caregivers, and other healthcare team members on relevant aspects of speech therapy.

Licensure Requirements

  • Must hold a valid Speech Therapy license in the state of practice
  • Current CPR certification is required
  • Possession of a valid driver's license and vehicle insurance, along with access to reliable transportation
