Position Overview

The Universal Banker, under general supervision and adhering to established protocols, is tasked with delivering outstanding customer service while supporting the overall functioning of the branch. This role involves collaboration with the Assistant and Branch Managers in managing all aspects of the Platform operations, as well as facilitating sales, business development, and service initiatives. Additionally, the Universal Banker may perform teller duties as required.



Branch Responsibilities

All Universal Bankers are assigned a primary branch but may be required to assist at other locations as needed. Flexibility to work across various branches is essential.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Overseeing daily branch operations in the absence of the Branch Manager and/or Assistant Branch Manager.
  • Ensuring high standards of service quality and operational efficiency:
  • Providing exemplary customer service consistently.
  • Maintaining professionalism at all times.
  • Continuously enhancing product knowledge to assist customers with their financial needs.
  • Identifying opportunities for workflow improvements.
  • Resolving customer and account-related issues efficiently and professionally.
  • Safeguarding customer confidentiality.
  • Accurately identifying new and existing customers.
  • Opening all account products offered by the bank.
  • Executing transactional services such as stop payments, deposits, and withdrawals, ensuring accuracy in each transaction.

Business Development Responsibilities:

  • Actively pursuing sales through cross-selling additional products and services.
  • Identifying leads and further business opportunities with all customers.
  • Supporting the Branch Manager in business development initiatives to engage local businesses and community organizations, promoting the bank's community-oriented approach and enhancing deposit growth.
  • Preparing and monitoring daily reports, managing budgetary compliance, and approving transactions requiring overrides.
  • Executing the Bank's BSA program, including Customer Identification Program (CIP), ChexSystems, and OFAC processing, while observing customer activities and completing necessary currency transaction reports.
  • Assisting the Branch Manager in fostering a competitive focus within the branch by encouraging staff to promote the bank's product offerings through effective cross-selling.
  • Ensuring adherence to all branch security and control measures.
  • Participating in all required training sessions and meetings.
  • Engaging in community involvement and local public relations activities as required.
  • Assisting with branch audits.

Supervisory Duties:

The Universal Banker directly supervises a team of three tellers, executing supervisory responsibilities in line with organizational policies and legal requirements. This includes training staff, planning and directing work, evaluating performance, and addressing employee concerns.

Ability to interpret documents, write routine correspondence, and communicate effectively with groups. Proficiency in basic mathematical calculations is also required.

Physical Demands:

The role may require the ability to lift and move up to 25 pounds and to engage in various physical activities as needed.

Work Environment:

The work environment is typically quiet, allowing for focused interactions with customers and colleagues.
