Job Summary

This is a full-time position with benefits. Our salary schedules may be accessed at our company's website. This role is responsible for maintaining and preserving our facilities' condition to provide a safe, healthy, and aesthetically pleasing environment for students and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare different types of surfaces, both interior and exterior, for painting and/or sealcoating.
  • Identify the proper materials and methods to use in unique situations.
  • Coordinate access to work areas to minimize disruption to the school environment while completing work in a timely manner.
  • Protect surfaces in the work area from paint and damage.
  • Use appropriate safety and personal protective equipment.
  • Assist coworkers with projects as needed, including work other than painting.
  • Maintain assigned tools and vehicles in proper order and state of repair.
  • Respond to emergency calls when necessary, including after hours, weekends, and inclement weather days.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Physical Demands

This job may require lifting of objects weighing up to 75 lbs., with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 50 lbs. Other physical demands include:

  • Pushing and/or pulling
  • Stooping and/or kneeling
  • Reaching
  • Carrying tools and materials
  • Climbing and working at heights on aerial lifts, scaffolding, ladders, etc.

  • Adaptability to performing a variety of duties, often changing from one task to another of a different nature without loss of efficiency or composure.
  • Adaptability to accepting responsibility for the direction, control, or planning of an activity.
  • Adaptability to dealing with crew members, subcontractors, and material suppliers during project completion often under difficult conditions.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and follow oral and written instructions.
Capacity and Ability Requirements
  • Knowledge of painting techniques and common construction practices. Ability to perform skilled painting work.
  • Ability to learn new or job-specific techniques.
  • Ability to use the Internet to research products, subcontractors, and techniques.
  • Familiarity with construction drawings, specifications, proposals, and other contract documents.
  • Ability to understand instructions and underlying principles. Ability to reason and make judgments.
  • Ability to visualize projects prior to construction based on documents, drawings, and verbal information.
  • Ability to perform arithmetic operations quickly and accurately.
Work Conditions

This job may require working in a medium to high degree of discomfort due to exposure to temperature, fumes, dirt, dust, noise, and cleaning chemicals.
