Cyber Forensic Analyst IV

At Nightwing, we are seeking a highly skilled Cyber Host Forensic Analyst IV to join our team. As a key member of our cybersecurity team, you will be responsible for conducting forensic investigations and analyzing digital evidence to support our customers' most critical missions.
Responsibilities:- Assist federal leads in overseeing and leading forensic teams at onsite engagements by coordinating evidence collection operations.
- Provide technical assistance on digital evidence matters and forensic investigative techniques to appropriate personnel when necessary.
- Write in-depth reports, support with peer reviews, and provide quality assurance reviews for junior personnel.
- Support forensic analysis and mentor/provide guidance to others on data collection, analysis, and reporting in support of onsite engagements.
- Assist with leading and coordinating forensic teams in preliminary investigations.
- Plan, coordinate, and direct the inventory, examination, and comprehensive technical analysis of computer-related evidence.
- Distill analytic findings into executive summaries and in-depth technical reports.
- Serve as a technical forensics liaison to stakeholders and explain investigation details, including forensic methodologies and protocols.
- Track and document onsite incident response activities and provide updates to leadership throughout the engagement.
- Evaluate, extract, and analyze suspected malicious code.
- U.S. Citizenship.
- Must have an active TS/SCI clearance.
- Must be able to obtain DHS Suitability.
- 10+ years of directly relevant experience in cyber forensic investigations using leading-edge technologies and industry-standard forensic tools.
- Ability to create forensically sound duplicates of evidence (forensic images).
- Able to write cyber investigative reports documenting digital forensics findings.
- Experience with the analysis and characterization of cyber attacks.
- Experience with proper evidence-handling procedures and chain of custody protocols.
- Skilled in identifying different classes of attacks and attack stages.
- Knowledge of system and application security threats and vulnerabilities.
- Knowledgeable in proactive analysis of systems and networks, including creating trust levels of critical resources.
- Must be able to travel domestically on short notice.
- Must be able to work collaboratively across physical locations.
- Experience with or knowledge of two or more of the following tools: EnCase, FTK, SIFT, X-Ways, Volatility, WireShark, Sleuth Kit/Autopsy, Splunk, Snort, or other EDR Tools (Crowdstrike, Carbon Black, etc.).
- Proficiency with conducting all-source research.
BS Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Computer Engineering, or related degree; or HS Diploma and 10+ years of host or digital forensics experience.
Desired Certifications:- GCFA, GCFE, EnCE, CCE, CFCE, CISSP.
Nightwing is an equal opportunity employer and welcomes applications from diverse candidates. We offer a competitive salary range of $118,000 - $246,000 and a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays.
This role is a U.S.-based role, and if the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
RTX anticipates the application window closing approximately 40 days from the date the notice was posted. However, factors such as candidate flow and business necessity may require RTX to shorten or extend the application window.
