Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Instrument Mechanic Helper to join our team at the Naval Foundry and Propeller Center in Philadelphia, PA. As an Instrument Mechanic Helper, you will assist in the operation of precision tool issue and pre-check functions, manually inventory count of stock on hand and daily inventory for stock adjustment, and assist in documenting, recording, and filing reports and instructions that support the Measure and ATCS Systems.

Responsibilities
  • Assist Mechanical Instrument Calibrator in the operation of precision tool issue and pre-check function.
  • Manually inventory count of stock on hand and daily inventory for stock adjustment.
  • Assist in documenting, recording, and filing reports and instructions that support the Measure and ATCS Systems.
  • Assist Toolmakers and Instrument Mechanics in the maintenance, repair, and calibration of precision hand tools, electronic RPM indicators, laser survey and alignment equipment, and various optical tooling.
  • Assist mechanic in the operation and use of standard precision measure machines associated equipment and hand tools.
  • Obtain and hand mechanic work tools while assisting in the inspection, repair and calibration.

The Screen-out Element for this position is: ABILITY TO DO THE WORK OF THE POSITION WITHOUTH MORE THAN NORMAL SUPERVISION Operating tool issue terminals in all required procedures of the Automated Tool Control System in an error free manner; experience in inventory management and record-keeping, coupled with advanced proficiency in computer applications, particularly eFEM; knowledge of mathematics such as algebra, geometry, and trigonometry; experience following detailed instructions.
