Position Overview:
We are in search of a highly qualified Structural Engineer specializing in wood structures. The ideal candidate will be instrumental in the design, analysis, and supervision of wood construction projects, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and building codes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Structural Design: Create and develop structural systems for a variety of wood constructions, ensuring adherence to all relevant standards.
  • Material Selection: Choose suitable wood materials based on strength, durability, and sustainability criteria.
  • Analysis and Calculations: Conduct thorough structural analyses to guarantee the stability and safety of wood structures under diverse conditions.
  • Project Coordination: Work collaboratively with architects, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure project success, providing technical support throughout.
  • Code Compliance: Verify that all designs and construction practices meet local, state, and national regulations.
  • Innovation and Sustainability: Stay updated on advancements in wood construction and advocate for sustainable practices.
  • Quality Assurance: Perform site inspections to ensure construction aligns with design specifications and quality standards.
  • Documentation: Prepare comprehensive engineering reports and maintain accurate project records.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master's preferred).
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or eligibility for licensure.
  • At least 5 years of experience in structural engineering focused on wood.
  • Proficient in structural analysis and design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, SAP2000).
  • Strong knowledge of wood materials and construction methods.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Dedication to sustainability and innovative engineering solutions.

Preferred Skills:
  • Experience with mass timber and cross-laminated timber (CLT).
  • Familiarity with green building standards.
  • Knowledge of building information modeling (BIM) tools.
