Job Summary and Qualifications
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides high-quality, patient-focused care by performing a variety of delegated basic patient care tasks.
In collaboration with Registered Nurses (RNs) and other care team members, the LPN delivers personalized, comprehensive care that aligns with the standards of the specialty.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct, evidence-based care to patients as directed by the physician or RN.
- Assist with procedures, monitoring, and other functions as instructed.
- Conduct lab and procedural tests within the LPN scope of practice after demonstrating competency.
- Accurately document care provided in the patient medical record in a timely manner.
- Serve as a resource for department staff, students, and volunteers to enhance patient care quality.
Qualifications:
- Basic Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment.
- IV Therapy certification must be obtained within 60 months of employment.
- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) certification required.
