About the RoleAs a Primary Casualty Energy Underwriter or Senior, you will be responsible for analyzing and underwriting complex new and renewal business, utilizing our proprietary underwriting framework, The Zurich Way. You will work closely with our team to provide exceptional customer service and drive business growth.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement underwriting strategies to drive business growth and profitability
- Analyze and evaluate complex risk profiles to determine accurate premiums
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement risk management solutions
- Build and maintain strong relationships with brokers and clients to drive business growth
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and developments to ensure our underwriting practices remain best-in-class
- High School Diploma or Equivalent and 3 or more years of experience in Underwriting or Market Facing
- High School Diploma or Equivalent and 6 or more years of experience in Claims or Underwriting Support
- Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including an Associate Degree and 1 or more years of experience in Underwriting or Market Facing
- Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including an Associate Degree and 4 or more years of experience in Claims or Underwriting Support
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field
- Technical knowledge of Commercial Casualty Underwriting
- Established broker relationships in the Mid-Atlantic Region
- Sales execution mindset
- Creative problem-solving skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
