Bassett Medical Center is seeking a skilled Radiologic Technologist to join our Cardiovascular Imaging team. As a Cath Lab Interventional Radiology Technician I, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our department.
Responsibilities- Perform hemodynamic monitoring, accurate documentation, and recording of all Cardiac, Vascular, and Radiological procedural hemodynamics and equipment usage.
- Assist with evaluation, preparation, and after-care of patients undergoing cardiac catheterization or interventional procedures and EP testing.
- Prepare and operate all equipment used during procedures in CVI.
- Monitor and record intra-cardiac pressures and electrocardiograph signals during procedures; provide immediate notification with observations of changes to providers.
- Comply with established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives.
- Attend meetings, conferences, and seminars as required or directed.
- Maintain sterile work areas and set up sterile work tables for various procedures.
- Explain procedures to patients and answer any questions or concerns regarding the test.
- Provide fluoroscopy procedures maintaining ALARA standards.
- Collaborate with all departments to assure timely access to services.
- Comply with infection control practices and precautions according to Bassett Medical Center Infection Control policies.
- Ensure that procedure rooms and staff, including physicians, are operating within NYS regulation of radiation safety.
- Maintain competence through continuing education.
- Treat patients, families, physicians, and other employees with respect, courtesy, and compassion.
- Display a positive image of Bassett Medical Center by upholding the mission statement and code of ethics.
- 2-year/Associate Degree from an accredited Radiology Technologist program or satisfactory completion of formal Radiology Technologist training program in an AMA-approved school.
- Experienced Radiology Technologist with special procedure room or operating room experience.
- Broad knowledge of invasive & general cardiology, interventional radiology, and peripheral vascular diagnostics and pathophysiology.
- Previous medical experience in an acute care setting.
- ARRT (R) within 180 days from date of hire.
- At least a NYS Temporary Permit.
- New York State Licensure as a Radiologic Technologist within 180 days from date of hire.
- Injection registered within 6 months of hire.
- ACLS within 6 months from date of hire.
