About the Role

Bassett Healthcare Network is seeking a highly skilled Radiologic Technologist to join our team in the Cardiovascular Imaging department. As a Cath Lab Interventional Radiology Technician, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform hemodynamic monitoring, accurate documentation, and recording of all Cardiac, Vascular, and Radiological procedural hemodynamics and equipment usage.
  • Assist with evaluation, preparation, and after-care of patients undergoing cardiac catheterization or interventional procedures and EP testing.
  • Prepare and operate all equipment used during procedures in CVI, including physiologic recorder systems.
  • Monitor and record intra-cardiac pressures and electrocardiograph signals during procedures, providing immediate notification of any changes to the provider.
  • Comply with established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, and maintain a sterile work area.
  • Provide fluoroscopy procedures maintaining ALARA standards, and explain procedures to patients and answer any questions or concerns regarding the test.
  • Collaborate with all departments to ensure timely access to services, and communicate and distribute testing results and patient charges according to protocol.
  • Demonstrate patient advocacy by ensuring patient rights to privacy, confidentiality, and safety, and utilize infection control practices and precautions according to Bassett Medical Center Infection Control policies.
Requirements
  • 2-year/Associate degree from an accredited Radiology Technologist program or satisfactory completion of formal Radiology Technologist training program in an AMA-approved school.
  • Experienced Radiology Technologist with special procedure room or operating room experience, preferred.
  • Broad knowledge of invasive and general cardiology, interventional radiology, and peripheral vascular diagnostics and pathophysiology, preferred.
  • Previous medical experience in an acute care setting, preferred.
  • ARRT (R) within 180 days from date of hire, required.
  • At least a NYS Temporary Permit, required.
  • New York State Licensure as a Radiologic Technologist within 180 days from date of hire, required.
  • Injection registered within 6 months of hire, required.
  • ACLS required within 6 months from date of hire.
